Title I
Title I Aids Our School
Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act provides financial assistance to local education agencies and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards.
How Funding is Awarded
Title I funding is rewarded based on each school’s data. Data that is required is total number of student enrollment and the number of students on Free or Reduced lunch.
Parental Support
Through Title I funds, parents can participate in the following school-wide activities.
· Open House
· Literacy Night
· Math Technology Night
· PAW Pride Events
· Parent Survey
You can keep up to date on Family Involvement Activities via our Student Calendar, School Connect App, and our user friendly webpage, which is fps.wpsb.org. We hope to see your family around throughout the school year!
How Funding is Spent
Here, at Franklinton Primary, we try to maximize the usage of our Title I funds. Throughout the school year, grade level teachers and appointed faculty meet to constantly review data on academic performance. In these meetings we revise our School Improvement Plan to assess our weaknesses. Then, we breakdown our funds to improve academic performance with the help of:
· SmartyAnts
· IPads
· Reading/Math Interventionists
· SRA Lab 2.0
· Parent Resource Center (PRC)
· Two Literacy Coaches
· Promethean Boards and Projectors
· 2 Computer Labs
· Multi-Media Specialist
· Parent Advisory Council (PAC)
· 5 Star Families
· Computer Software & Accessories
· Printer & Ink
· Supplies
Our goal is to build up our students for success and to also maximize parental involvement throughout the process.
